Setup Account Profiles. Account Profiles associate job functions with specific G/L accounts.  Example job functions:

1. An office manager who will approve POs for office supplies.
2. An AP clerk who will issue office POs and match them against invoices.
3. A driller who issues and approves drilling and completion POs.

A minimum of one Account Profile must be set up. In this case, all G/L accounts should be accessible by entering a G/L Account of “*ALL”. For tighter control of G/L account coding you may want to restrict a profile to specific general ledger accounts.  For example: the office manager may only code items to office expense accounts.

NOTE: not allowing access to certain general ledger accounts in this setup does not prevent their access to those general ledger accounts in other modules such as AP or GL.
